Hardware and Software Tools Needed for
Emerging Technologies
Hardware and software tools needed for Emerging Technologies are indicated below.
These tools can be available to you in a RSU facility, but you should ideally have them on a computer to which you have personal access.
1. a multimedia Internet computer, including microphone
2. Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint (for course paper and slide creation)
3. PalTalk (for Internet text/audio presentations)
4. a screen grabber such as SnagIt or HyperSnap or MWSnap (for grabbing computer screens as graphic files)
PalTalk is free from the below, if you can tolerate related pop-ups; otherwise the cost is minimal.
MWSnap is free from the below. It is generally sufficient for course use, but not as full of features as the other tools mentioned.

ShagIt and HyperSnap are available in free (time-limited) versions, or at minimal cost, from the below.
It is of HIGHEST importance NOW that you obtain and install PalTalk (or otherwise gain access to it), and start to practice using PalTalk for course presentation using a microphone, on your personal Internet multimedia computer if you have one (or on some other computer).
It is also of high importance that you obtain a screen grabber tool, and install it, and practice using it, for course creation presentation.
